A trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park AT Uganda Vision Resource Centre:
Queen Elizabeth National park is one of the most interestingly beautiful destinations in the whole world! Rolling hills and valleys caress the savannah plains, speckled with acacia woodland before soaring inland to explosion craters, some with pure water lakes. The Launch Cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, the Crater Lake drive and a nature walk to the Kyambura gorge and the blue lake, are the most thrilling experiences in this park. Our Kazinga channel launch cruise is the most luxurious in the western Uganda, plying these waters with comfort, elegance and attentive service, affording superb wildlife viewing from your observation deck, is far much re-assuring!
In the vicinity are free-standing snow-capped Rwenzori mountain ranges; quaint Bunyaruguru green farms and villages, whose charming residents are descendants of Buganda immigrants. The area is carved out of dense, tropical rain forests and hilly landscapes of the fertile volcanic soils dotted with numerous cup-shaped, serpentine-shaped crater lakes, glazed in different colours including blue, green, black and transparent. These dazzling Bunyaruguru craters embrace tracts of massive volcanic upheavals with inferred Holocene eruptions that occurred about 5000 years ago.
The fort portal area craters and hills are a continuum of the Bunyaruguru crater field extension. Crater-Lake-Exploration: Bunyaruguru-Craters$1,035.00

What makes UVRC Volunteers program unique?
We run different Community Projects in Western Uganda where volunteers stay at a Guest Home, live in comfortable home stay environment while they play several valuable roles in fighting poverty in the surrounding area. Volunteers will be allocated roles teaching and supporting teachers at local schools where they will teach mainly English, IT and Physical Education. They will also be involved in HIV prevention projects in the area, generally community development projects and so many other projects as earlier indicated.
What is the Home like?
At home, food is provided by Ugandans who cook a combination of local and western dishes. Breakfast and dinner are eaten at home and lunch is either eaten from project sites or is a packed lunch. Water is either mineral water or filtered on site for drinking. The home keeps soft drinks that people can buy cheaply. When we aren’t away on field project activities, we shall have big barbecues on the weekends. Community leaders, Teachers and Church leaders sometimes invite our volunteers for dinner.
Program Dates: This program runs all throughout the year. Program orientation will take place the second day of your arrival.
Program Duration: Volunteers can choose to volunteer for a period of 1 week to 6 months.

12 Day Gorilla Safari thru Kampala, Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest and the Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Parks.
Murchison falls national park where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes, to Kibale forest national park the primate capital city, to Queen Elizabeth national park Uganda’s most popular game reserve for Uganda safaris and certainly one most scenic, to Bwindi Impenetrable national park famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, to the 370-sq-km Lake Mburo National Park is an increasingly common stop on the safari circuit as it’s the only place in southern Uganda to see zebra. It’s also the only park in the country with impala, slender mongoose and giant bush rat, and is a great place to look for hyena, leopard, topi and eland.
